JC Dill of EquinePhotoArt is available for equine portraits; promotional photos of your farm, ranch, or stable, stallions and sales horses; and to provide onsite photographer services for your horse show or clinic.

Equine portraits are different from show photos. In horse show photos the photographer strives to capture your horse in a standard movement, hopefully the type of movement that wins the class! The emphasis is on your horse - the photo will be taken when the horse looks good even when you don't look very good at that moment. The photographer will only spend a few seconds taking photos of you and your horse and you will rarely have more than a few photos to choose from for each class you entered. Often you aren't even recognizable in these photos. In equine portraits the emphasis is on both you and your horse. I get to know you and your horse as I talk with you and work with you, and I find and emphasize your relationship with your horse and the aspects of your horse that make your horse special to you. You will have dozens or sometimes even hundreds of photos to choose from! When you give an equine portrait photo to a relative like your grandmother, she will recognize the person in the photo as her grandchild rather than just some person on a horse.

1 hour photo portrait session for 1 person and 1 horse: $125
Ranch call, within 50 miles of Los Altos, CA: $75
Ranch call, within 100 miles of Los Altos, CA: $75 plus $1 per mile over 50 miles.
Ranch call, more than 100 miles from Los Altos, CA: actual expenses, please ask for a quote.

Promotional Photos

Everyone knows a picture is worth 1000 words. Photographs of your farm, ranch, stable, sales horses, and stallions can make or break your business advertising. Good photos will result in good results, bad photos will result in bad results! For the best bang for your advertising dollar, you want excellent photos that show off your facility and horses to their best advantage. Promotional photography rates can include licensing rights to use the images in print and online promotional materials. Also note that some print purchases of show or equine portrait photos come with limited licensing rights to use those images in sales ads.

Horse Shows

EquinePhotoArt is available to work as the official photographer for your horse shows, schooling shows, and clinics. Having an official photographer will bring prestige to your events. Your participants will be encouraged to pay closer attention to their turnout for the benefit of the camera. Limited image licensing is available to allow you to use photos from your horse show on your website. Please call or email to arrange for an official photographer at your next event.
